Consisting primarily of ledger sheets with annexed correspondence from E.N. Fuller, Charleston, S.C., to J.C. Cochran, with comments re military conditions around Charleston and the approach of Gen. W.T. Sherman's Federal troops. Also including memo protesting payment of Bill of Exchange, 27 Feb. 1855; and request from L.F. Potter, 21 Dec. 1855, requesting credit extension on drafts. Also including contractual agreement, 11 Aug. 1859, between James Rose, president, South Western Rail Road Bank, and Edward Houstown, president, Pensacola & Georgia Rail Road Co., for construction of the railroad, with annexed list of investors; 2 letters, 8 Oct. 1860, New York, T.B. Coddington & Co., to John C. Cochran, cashier, South Western Rail Road Bank, Charleston, re receipt of Pensacola & Georgia Rail Road Co. bonds; and minutes, 18 June 1863, of a board meeting to transact routine bank business, including the setting of dividends at $100.00 per share, a rate of 8% per annum.
